Submission Guidelines for Authors

MS Word Technical Paper Template

The abstract submission phase is now complete and authors have been advised of their paper’s acceptance by e-mail. Almost 600 abstracts were received and most have been selected to move on to the technical paper submission phase. The titles and authors of accepted abstracts are posted at http://www.ottawageo2007.ca/accepted-abstracts.php?lang=en.

Complete technical papers must be submitted by May 31, 2007 using the online submission feature of this website available at http://www.ottawageo2007.ca/abstract-submission.php?lang=en. Authors will be required to register as a delegate for the conference before they can submit their paper(s) – the online registration and payment system will be functional by the end of March, 2007.

This year the Author's Release, Declaration and Understanding has been incorporated into the online submission process – all corresponding authors must select “Yes” in the Copyright Permission field or the paper will not be uploaded to the site.

The Technical Committee will review all papers for clarity, technical merit and relevance to the conference. Prospective authors will be informed of their paper’s acceptance by July 13, 2007. In cases where a reviewer feels revisions are necessary, comments will be provided by July 13, 2007, with revised papers being due July 27, 2007.

Authors will be informed whether the paper has been accepted for presentation orally or as a poster, arising primarily as a result of presentation timeline constraints – posters do not require a formal presentation. Accepted papers, for which at least one author has registered for the conference, will appear in the CD-ROM and the printed published proceedings of the conference – each registrant will receive the CD-ROM version as part of their registration fee.

To help authors ensure their paper meets the conference’s presentation requirements, we have prepared Submission Guidelines for Authors. All authors must follow these guidelines to help ensure presentation uniformity in the CD-ROM and the printed conference proceedings. Please take particular note of the page and abstract word count limits. An MS Word Technical Paper Template file has been developed for the use of all authors – submissions that do not follow the prescribed format will be returned.

Final decisions regarding the assigned session for submitted papers will rest with the Technical Committee. Questions regarding the paper review process, sessions and the technical program should be directed to the Technical Committee contacts:
